See, Think, Wonder: Global Nutrition - Student and Teacher Resource

Right now, record numbers of children around the world are facing the threat of hunger as conflicts escalate, the climate crisis intensifies, and global inequality widens

Global funding cuts are impacting supplies of lifesaving therapeutic food to treat children with severe acute malnutrition, while here in the Pacific, children living on the front line of the climate crisis, are facing food insecurity due to rising sea levels, cyclones, floods, and dangerous heatwaves

For our tamariki in Aotearoa they too have a right to nourishing food to help them grow and learn! We have created a new resource to introduce this topic of nutrition around the world in an easy to use See, Think, Wonder style. This is perfect for either class discussions, or as an independent task in one of your literacy rotations.

With teacher instructions, a worksheet and presentation format (so you can choose!) as well as some ideas for what to do next all included- this is an easy activity to get your students reflecting on food and nutrition and what they already know and feel about this important topic.

Children who are aware of their rights are more likely to speak up for themselves and others - get them talking about the right to grow and live in a healthy and nourished way!
